Chapter 2
Lunch Dispute
A slash of pain was
lashed across her cheek. She fell to the ground, The willow wood sword knocking
the breath out of her. She looked up to the male, Gasping for air and a small
stream of blood running down from her nose.
“Ahahah…Y-You seem to
B-Beat me…But that’s where your truth falters!”
She jumped up, growling
loudly As She Brought Her Hand Up, Slapping Him Hard Across The Cheek. Zed
Backed Up Slightly, Putting A Hand On His Cheek. He Was In Surprise
“Wha….”
His Eyes Became Wide
With Adrenaline, Putting The Sword In Her Gut, Knocking The Breath Out Of Her.
She Fell Backwards, Landing With A Hard Thunk On The Ground. The Spar Had
Ended.
Zed Knelt Down, Reaching
His Hand Out To The Bleeding Misty That Sat There, On Her Butt.
“It’s Okay…!”
His Smile Was
Reassuring, And Misty Took His Hand, Zed Helping Her Up
“Soooooooo…” Zed Said,
His Eyes On The Ground “Don’t You Have Friends To Meet For Lunch?” Misty Looked
Over At Him, Wiping The Blood From Her Nose
“Uhm…Yeah, I Do…”
She Nodded, Smiling
“I’ll See You Tomorrow For Training”
She Nodded Once More,
Laughing Nervously And Running Off. Time For Lunch With Her Brother, Friend And
Possibly Her Brother’s Significant Other.
She Arrived At The Small
Ramen Shop Where She Ate Every Day With Lux, Lulu, (Lulu Is Her Girlish Dude
Friend) And Possibly Her Brother’s Girlfriend, Riku. The Shop Was Fairly New,
The Windows Remained Spotless And Tinted The Same Honey Yellow, The Shop’s Roof
Remained Spotless And Un Torn, The Steady, Delicious Of Smell Wafting From A
Open Back Door. She Walked Inside, The Warmth Slapping Her Across The Face As
Zed’s Blow With The Willow Wood Stick Did.
“Hello, Mistay-Chan!”
A Older Woman At The Desk Smiled And Waved. Her Hair Was Gray, Her Skin A
Cocoa Brown With Freckles, A Pair Of Triangle Frames At Her Nose
“Hello, Misao-Chan!”
Misty Smiled And Waved Back, Trying Not To Be Frustrated. Misao Always Said Her
Name Like “Mistay” Instead Of “Misty”. It Drove Her Crazy. Misty Looked
Around The Restaurant. Ah. So Her Table Wasn’t Taken. Misty Walked Over To The
Wooden Table, The Same Four, Plain Chairs Sitting Around It. She Took The One
Farthest From The Door.
A Few Moments Later, She
Felt A Bump, And A Moan Came Out From Under The Table. It Was Lulu.
“Ahhhghhh...” Lulu Slid
Back Up Into The Chair Next To Hers. “ I Dropped All My Books...Then You Showed
Up...Then...Agh..” Lulu Rubbed The Back Of His Head. Misty Thought She Could
Already See The Bump Rising.
“Shhhhh...Be More
Careful, Okay?” Misty Smiled At Him As Lux Walked In The Door. But He Wasn’t
Alone. And It Wasn’t Riku Who Was Walking Beside Him.
“Misty!!” Zed Exclaimed,
Sitting Down In The Other Chair Beside Her. His Chocolate Brown Was Dull, Neatly
Kept Up In A Small Ponytail. His Green Eyes Shimmered, His Cheeks Red As A
Summer Rose.
“Are You Okay? I Was
Worried If I Hurt You!!” Zed Put His Hand On Misty’s Cheek. It Felt Cold
Against Her Oddly Warm Skin, And It Was Rough With Calluses From The Constant
Training.
“I’m Fine I’m Fine I
Swear!” She Gently Moved His Cold Hand From Her Face, Wishing The Probing Cold
Would Vanish. As She Moved His Hand, His Face Went Even Redder. He Was Being
Upset.
“Oh! You Can Never
Forgive Me! I’m So Sorry!” He Turned His Body And Sobbed Dramatically.
Obviously Fake. A Few Moments Later, He Turned His Head Back To Her.
“H’mpht...” And There We Go...Back To Dramatic, Moody Zed.
“You’re Such A Weak
Heart, Misty. You Need To Harden Up.” Zed Was Always Hard On Misty. He Didn’t
Mean To Hurt Her Feelings, Nor Her. Misty’s Parents Both Died When She Was
Fairly Young, So She Lacked In Pure Hard Discipline.
A Few Summers That
Didn’t Seem So Long Ago, Misty Was With Her Father. Her Brother Had Left To
Join Some Noble Cause That Would Never Happen. Her Father, Aaron, Was Quite
Sweet To Her. He Felt Pity Towards His Daughter, Because For One Her Brother’s
An Ass, And Her Mother Had Died when She Was Born. So, Aaron Took Care Of
His Daughter Alone, And Was Often Soft On His Only Child.
As She Was Shot Back
Into Reality, She Realized That She Had Now Had A Bowl Of Ramen In Front Of
Her, The Steamy Fumes Blowing Up Into Her Face. Lux Had Been Quiet The Whole
Evening, Quietly Eating His Own Bowl. Zed Was Staring At Her With Judgemental
Eyes And Lulu Was Head-First In A New Yaoi Book.
“Uh...S-Sorry...Lux,
Zed, Lulu, I Will Be Taking My Leave.” Misty Didn’t Want To Be There Anymore,
Under Zed’s Burning gaze.
“Wait!!” Lulu Exclaimed,
Holding Up Two Or Three Mangas To Her. He Loved To Load Her Up With Them. He
Personally Wanted To Make Her An Otaku By The End Of The Year. Misty Smiled,
Taking The Books
“Ah...Thanks.”
She Quickly Put Them In
Her Bag, Then Quickly Left The Restaurant. Again, Zed’s Burning, Probing Gaze
Haunted Her Mercilessly All The Way Back Home. When She Arrived Home, She Lay
Back On The Couch, Letting Out A Long, Frustrated Sigh. Just Then, Her Brother
Popped Up From Behind The Couch, A Devious Smile On His Face. “Sister...” Misty
Let Out A Growl, Giving Him A Glare Of Daggers “What Do You Want?!” Lux’s Eyes
Shot Open, The Smile Being Slapped Off His Face. “I Just Wanted To Give You
These...” He Slipped Over The Couch, A Box Of Band-Aids In Hand “You Looked
Pretty Beat Up...” He Took Out The Bandages, Putting Them On The Cuts On Her
Face. They Were The Hello Kitty Kind. After That, Misty Broke Out Into Tears
“I’m Sorry Brother...” She Was Shut Up By His Hug. The Cold Worm Called Misty
Curled Up In Her Older Brother’s Arms, Whimpering Like A Lost Puppy. After
That, Everything Went Dark.
